Flip A Layout

Another Master's Monday post for the Trixie Scraps blog. You can read it here. In the post I talk about updated old layouts. In my case I took some old layouts that I did the traditional way and in an 8 1/2 x 11 format and updated them with my digi scrapping.

Wild Hair

Somewhere along the way my Father in Law got a hold of this wild hair thing to show support for some sports team. My little guy put one on and his uncle threw the other one on his head. We got some photos and this is the layout that came from it.

BRAVE

A couple months ago, over at the Trixie Scraps blog - a new topic was introduced. It is called Sentiment Sunday and I gave it a go with very tender feelings. You can read the post here. This is the layout I made for it.

What I loved most about this layout was that the kit I chose had the perfect wordstrips to work with my journaling.

Birthday Invite (The Real One)

Awhile ago I posted a tutorial of sorts where I made 2 different items - an announcement and and invite, you can read that here.

Anyway, I made that invite way before I knew what I really wanted to do for my kids' birthday, so when I got it figured out it required a change of plans. This is what the real invite looked like:

Party On!

I was waiting a bit before posting this layout, because I had hoped to get the other side made to it before doing so - but then my dear 5 year old son deleted the digital post-it note that I had detailing my supply list for quite a few layouts. Therefore, we're just posting them all now and praying I remember what I used...

Here's a birthday party layout when my almost 9 year old turned 5. 4 years ago - craziness!!!

A Pirate's Day

It's so much fun going back through old photos. It's crazy to look back at these days when I realize this kid will be 5 at the end of the week. How did 4 years go by so quickly?

I'm also loving April's Templatetopia by North Meets South. I'll probably be using this template pack for many more layouts, so keep an eye out.

#1 Duck

A couple weeks ago, Trixie of Trixie Scraps got together with Connie Prince and together they are North Meet South Studios and they came up with a great collab kit called Sailor Duck.

When Trixie posted in our forum that this kit was going to be released and she wanted layouts done, I requested the kit. Why? Because I had the PERFECT picture in mind and a story to go along with it. I did have to call my mom to get more information, but here's what I did:

This is a picture of my older brother. I just happened to have my mom's scrapbooks with me at the time and I immediately thought of this picture. But like I said, because I wasn't 100% on the details I had to call my mom and get them.
Such a funny story and I think my brother may still have a soft spot for that duck!

Creating Announcements And Invites

Another recap of a post I did at the Trixie Scraps blog.

Because April starts the beginning of a birthday a month for a few months, I decided to revisit the greeting card tutorial and expand on it a bit. You can read the full post here.

In short, I made a gender announcement card and a b-day invite. You can see both below.

Birthday Fun

Thank goodness for my friends. If it weren't for them, I'd probably never get any scrapping done.

My very pregnant friend messaged me last night asking if I wanted to scrapbook this morning. Of course I did. It means I have yet to clean my house, but I got a page done.

I probably could've done at least one more, but my friends backyard opens up into the park, so of course the kids wanted to play at the park and needed mommy to push them on the swing for 20 minutes. It was a wonderful morning.

I've been working my way through the pictures I have on my hard drive and that means it's the year 2009 and I'm working my way through the months. Today's pictures came from child #3's 5th birthday!

I'll Always Be Your Little Boy

In one of my last posts you'll remember that I mentioned something about finishing a page, but then finding an error in it. Well it's taken me a good 2 weeks to get back to revamping the layout. I had it finished a couple times, but due to my program crashing and forgetting to save my completed work - I was back to square one.

I finally took some time this morning and finished it up. I'm still not in love with it, but it's better than the first go around.

Here's a look at the first layout:

You'll notice that I forgot the last 'l' in little. The words Little Boy also don't stand out much. I fixed both those issues and a few more in the completed project:

I decided I didn't like the frames I had used previously, so I found a couple that came with the kit and used those instead. The alphas that came in the kit were only in blues and pinks, so I recolored it with a paper included in the kit. I think it helps it stand out a bit more.

Subway Art in Scrapbook Form

The other day I did another post for Trixie Scraps. I know, I know. Without being a part of the CT over there, I'd get nothing scrapped...

Anyway, the post is all about using Subway Art in your scrapbook pages. You can read it here, it includes a tutorial of some form...

If you can't wait to read the post, I'll show you the cute layout that I did with it.

(Yes, I have the wrong year listed...It's fixed in the copy I'll print off)

Why So Serious? - Revisited

I noticed I hadn't posted this layout yet. It was another one I did a post for over at Trixie Scraps, and you can read that post here. It was a post about using your imperfect photos.

This is a revisit of a previous layout, but I redid it in a 12x12 size and kind of like this newest layout:
