A New Creative Team with Layouts!!!

Being a part of the CT team at Trixie Scraps has given me so much. One thing that's come from it is becoming aware of other designers and their stuff. So on Facebook I happened across Colie's Corner and loved her stuff. Then a few weeks ago she had a CT call and after I applied, she asked me to be a part of her team. I of course said yes.

It took me a couple weeks to get any kits because life was just too hectic to do any scrapping, but when I did - I made use of 2 of her kits.

We'll start with What A Catch. A fishing kit and I had the perfect pictures to use.

Wild Hair

Somewhere along the way my Father in Law got a hold of this wild hair thing to show support for some sports team. My little guy put one on and his uncle threw the other one on his head. We got some photos and this is the layout that came from it.

If I Only Had A Backbone

Week 3's Survivor Challenge - also know as the challenge where I got booted off. Ah well. This week's challenge is playing off all the characters wishes and what they're going to ask the Wizard for. So what would we ask the Wizard for? For me it is a backbone...

"The word 'no' doesn't usually exist in my world.
If I should happen to tell someone "no" I'll feel guilty for days.
I tend to avoid sign-ups.
I hope that others will volunteer, so that I won't have to say no.
Sometimes this works well for the kids. I am told quite often that I let them walk all over me.
Maybe when I'm a little old lady, I'll finally grow a backbone."

You're Special

This was the Survivor Week #2 challenge. The challenge was Something Magical. From the forum rules:

"This Layout will be inspired by the magical ruby slippers of Oz! What item do you have in your life that is precious to you? Maybe quilt your grandmother made for you, or is it your wedding ring, your old cheerleader sweater or sweethearts Letterman jacket, maybe you have dog tags from your (or your loved ones) time serving your country, or maybe you have your very own special pair of ruby slippers! Whatever it may be, this is your opportunity to create a layout, all about your treasured item. "

The item that jumped out at me was a stuffed bear. The layout journaling tells you the rest...

"It's that tangible item I chose to cling to after you died. It was the last birthday gift I received from you and grandma. (Though uncle David actually chose it)
A simple, pink stuffed bear with a little pillow with the words: You Are Special. You were always one to see the worth of souls. This bear has traveled with me for 20 years and helped me feel like you've been here when I've needed you, especially anytime I hear the words, "You Are Special."
Though only one of nineteen grandkids, you always made me feel important and special, as if I were your only one."

A Love Like This

I got roped into a Survivor type scrapbook thing at GingerScraps. The first weeks challenge was to go from black and white to color (this years Survivor is based on The Wizard of Oz). Not sure how the idea came to me for this layout, but it's what I came up with.

A Spell On You

Some things are born out of necessity. Such is the case with this layout. Trixie and Connie Prince (they form North Meets South Studios) decided to bring back to life a kit that a lot of designers originally created pieces for, but they decided they could make a kit with just their pieces. So, Trixie needed layouts done with just those pieces. This was mine.

There was a post made in Trixie's CT forum about a Monster High themed kit, I jumped on the bandwagon and begged for this kit. Trixie wasn't sure how she was going to do this, because she wasn't familiar with the show, but thank my lucky stars she found another designer who was more familiar with it and they teamed up to bring us Ghoul School.

I totally grabbed this kit ASAP and got to work, I knew exactly which picture to use as well.

A couple months ago, over at the Trixie Scraps blog - a new topic was introduced. It is called Sentiment Sunday and I gave it a go with very tender feelings. You can read the post here. This is the layout I made for it.

What I loved most about this layout was that the kit I chose had the perfect wordstrips to work with my journaling.

Outdoor Beauties

I was a bit AWOL over the past little bit...Nearing the end of my pregnancy I didn't really feel like myself and thus, I didn't do things like I normally do. I should mention that I did get one layout ALMOST done, but then I didn't feel like searching through all the drives that I needed to to get the pictures. Someday it'll get done.

Trixie's newest addition to the GGI sale at Gotta Pixel just made me smile.

Though the kit made me smile, I decided to do a semi-serious layout with with it. It still has a side of humor to it, because that's just who I am. But there is more truth than not in this simple layout.
