LUCKY

It's been awhile since I've done anything 'crafty.'

Recently my husband used his creative side to redo a pool table. Since he was being so crafty, it kind of got me in the mood for it again. It didn't hurt that a store he had to go to was next to a wood craft store.

Here's my two newest projects...

A shamrock door hang and Lucky blocks.

I got both from a store called Crafty Wood Cutouts. It was the first time I've been to the store and I was really quite surprised at how similarly laid out to The Wood Connection it was. While I don't like to be mean, the whole time it felt like I was in a store that was trying to be a knock-off. I don't know which store came first, so I don't know what the truth is there. But that's my 2 cents. My husband also stated that for people who don't want to travel all the way to Murray or American Fork, had this store as a closer option. So you know, sometimes you've got to look on the good side of things.

Things this store did have going for it:
- The children's area is located in an awesome area and the 2 kids I had with me at the time, stayed in the room the whole time. They didn't even want to leave it to go home.
- The LUCKY blocks came WITH the vinyl (By the way trying to stick vinyl on glittered cardstock DOESN'T work. I had to use Mod Podge to keep the c and y in place)
- I got 5% off my order just for 'checking-in' on Facebook
- They do have different options than The Wood Connection does

I'm still happy with my purchase and yes, I'd probably go back again. There were a few other projects I was looking at, but just didn't have the funds for it all. If you're closer to Utah County than Salt Lake County in Utah, Crafty Wood Cutouts may be a better option for you.

Toss The Dice

I've been sitting on this layout for a few days. The kit was finally released today, so I can share my layout. The kit was so much fun and I wished I had better pictures that fit with it, but when I saw the kit I immediately thought of a couple pictures I could use that would sort of work.

I present to you, TOSS THE DICE...

Best thing about this new release is that if you buy the kit from now until the 26th, you can get the template pack (which I also used) for 1/2 off!!! See links below to get to kit and template.

Take A Hike

Hold on to your seats, folks...I actually made a layout for no other reason than to just make it. I'm so proud of myself. It has to do with my friends wanting to get together again and scrap. We haven't done it in months and I'm so glad we got together today. And guess what, we're getting together again tonight - but I'm going to go back to my roots then and make some traditional layouts. We'll see if I end up sharing anything. HAHAHA!

Anyway onto today's completed layout:

Yup, I went back in time and created a layout for the 'family' book. Woot. I'm seriously thinking I may be changing my ways and sticking with digital. I'll get things done so much quicker.

Lacking Inspiration?

As is usual for me lately, because of a post I had to make at the Trixie Scraps blog - I have a couple new pages to share.

The post was about Overcoming Scrapper's Block. Read it, or don't. It's up to you, but here are the pages from it.

The first page, I'm not totally wild about. I'll probably do a redo of it sometime in the future. Because of certain circumstances, I was doing it at about 10:00 at night for the post that had to go live the very next morning...It's just lacking something and I don't know what.

The fact that all the pictures I chose were taken in the same month 2 years apart was a complete coincidence, but a very happy one.

Here's the next page. This is a page I've wanted to make for a long time, but just never could do it. Then I ran across a saying and it gave me my jump off point. You can read more about that in the post.
