Current Album...

Do you remember this past summer?

I do - mostly.

We took an awesome trip to Nebraska to visit the hubby's grandparents. His parents came along with us. It was a great week long get away and of course we had tons of pictures between myself and my mother in law.

My mother in law decided a few months back that we should make a book for her mom about our trip for Christmas. Well my mother in law and I have gotten together TWICE to get this done and how many pages do you think we have done?

I think we have about 6 total. I've done 3 and I think my MIL has done 3 as well. Anyway, I thought I'd share the few pages I've done and I apologize for not having a supply list and I did these a few months ago...I'll be better with the next pages I do.

And yes, after I post these I think I should work on a few more pages as Christmas is slowly creeping up...

The BIG Sister

Awhile ago I was able to test out MyMemories Suite and have since gone to it when I want to do simple, quick scrapbooking. The other day I finally 'liked' them on FB and notice they do all sorts of giveaways and even have some challenges.

One of these challenges takes place on Sundays. They call is Speed Scrap Sunday and it really is meant to be quick.

I think I maybe spent 20 minutes on mine, tops! It was fun and I'm very pleased with the result.

Why So Serious?

MyMemories blog hosts a new challenge each Wednesday. This week called for using those NOT so perfect pictures.

Having recently just had our family pictures and knowing that my little guy was sick and less than cooperative I knew EXACTLY what picture to use as the main picture and then added the other ones with it.

The layout was 'scraplifted' from Creating Keepsakes Magazine - November/December 2011 edition - Page 80 - Little Girl layout.

Wedding Bells

Remember this project?

Well I revisited it and revamped it for a wedding gift.

My cousin got married last Friday and I wanted to give her something with meaning. Giving wedding gifts is something I really hate to do.

So thinking about what I wanted to do I decided to combine two projects into one. It was crazy and I'm not positive I LOVE how it turned out, but I do like it.

This was the completed project:

Then I found this awesome frame to put it in and the completed project looked like this:

I think that the frame may be a bit too busy thinking about it now, but I still think the message will get through. At least I hope it will!

I do have to say that I got the template here. Without her, this project would've taken 10x as long!

Wanna Make The Kids Happy???

I like to visit How Does She? quite often. However, just recently I signed up to get their newsletter. I know - what's wrong with me? Anyway in one of the most recent newsletters I saw THIS! Now how could I pass that up? Seriously!

Now because I am trying to lose weight I didn't eat even 1. Can you believe it? Okay, it helped that it was covered with candy melts and I'm not crazy about candy melts. I also wasn't able to find candied eyeballs, so I improvised with chocolate chips. How can you go wrong with chocolate chips? I also couldn't find sucker sticks and came across coffee stirrers. I don't drink coffee, so I didn't know these were available, but guess what THEY WORKED and the kids now use them as straws. Hahaha!

Anyway, my kids LOVED these and kept asking for more. I even think the hubby stole one or two. I think they are cute and it's things like this that make me enjoy baking! Just wish I was able to avoid eating everything I baked... ;)

MousePad Do-Over

I first saw this tutorial over at AGAAGG. Check it out - but make sure you have LOADS of time on your hands cause this girl is crazy creative!!!

So I had this mousepad:

It was falling apart at the seams and it didn't bother me too much cause I did buy it at the dollar store and it lasted me a couple years.

So I tore that top part off and was left with this:

Then I went about measuring the mousepad to know which size to cut my paper.

I had an off night and could NOT get the paper cut to the right dimensions and finally settled on just using the two pieces of paper and making them work together:

I then took my Mod Podge and painted it all over the mousepad and then adhered the paper to it. When that was done, I was left with some edges that were bigger than the mousepad:

I simply trimmed the excess off.

I decided I didn't like how the two papers matched up

So I simply took a coordinating piece of paper and slapped it on where the other two pieces met. I was much happier with this look:

Now I have a cutesy mousepad and it's IN SEASON!!! YAY!
