The Enemy

Trixie's newest addition to the GGI sale at Gotta Pixel just made me smile.

Though the kit made me smile, I decided to do a semi-serious layout with with it. It still has a side of humor to it, because that's just who I am. But there is more truth than not in this simple layout.

I give you THE ENEMY...

To Gnome Me Is To Love Me

OH.MY.HECK!!! I was soooooo excited about one of Trixie's newest kits that I grabbed it right away. I found it awfully funny that she created this kit a month after my post about my indoor garden.

When I saw this kit, I knew that I had 2 pages to create with it right away and even though it took me quite a few weeks to actually get to it - I did make the 2 pages I wanted to. And because I was trying to get them done, I used templates from July's 2013 Templatetopia as well.

First page I did was about my son's Halloween costume a few years ago.

The next layout was, of course, about my indoor garden. It was a page that just needed to be scrapped!

...I accidentally put the wrong year on this page, though. Still need to fix that...

If You Met My Family, You'd Understand

I was finally able to do another post about fonts on the Trixie blog! I love fonts and I'm always excited when I get to do those posts. You can read the full post here, but here's a look at the layout.

This was a fun layout to make. My siblings and I don't look too similar now that we're all grown up, but I think as little kids we had more similarities than not. I love how this came out. It's not how I pictured it going in my mind originally, but it came out close. (We'll see if my siblings still talk to me after seeing this post. HAHAHA)

Freedom

If you know me at all, you know that I love to work with templates when I'm scrapping. It makes things quicker and easier and it doesn't stress me out as much.

A couple weeks ago, a fellow CT Member on the Trixie Blog posted a template challenge that was going to be posted yesterday. I liked the look of the template so I played along. You can read her post (and download the template) here, and this is how my layout turned out.'

Recently...

My little sister is part of a craft group with a bunch of her friends. They used to meet together every month, but then my sister moved and so she doesn't meet with them - but she still does the crafts. A few months ago she invited me to be a part of the FB group and it went downhill from there.

A few times a month the girl spearheading the group will post a craft and ask who is interested in doing it. She will then go buy the items needed to make the craft and we pay her from there. She posted a couple things in recent months that grabbed my attention, but it also took a couple months to actually get around to doing them.

The first one was a sign for Independence Day and since it's creeping up on us, I figured I'd better get my butt in gear and get it put together. The girl originally found the idea on Pinterest. (I think that's where she gets all of her ideas)

I did mine slightly different and distressed my sign when I was complete. I also made the star blue, when most of the others that did this craft stuck with white.

The next craft was a countdown sign. I laughed at the timing of this craft because I had just started a countdown on my big white board in the kitchen and was thinking to myself, "I should make a real countdown sign of some sort."

So of course I jumped on the bandwagon with this countdown sign:

(It was 50 days until baby, it's now 45! Though I'm praying it's more like 30...)

I apologize for not knowing more about the fonts and materials used for a majority of these projects. Like I said, there was another girl that got all the supplies together - I just actually PUT them together.
