Family Birthday Board

So awhile back my husband pointed me to this link. The link was a picture of the family birthday boards you see all over Pinterest now. But we saw the thing way before they all started popping up. I took note of it as a good idea for a gift and put the idea aside.

This year for Christmas, I decided it was the perfect gifts for our mother's. They both loved it. So here are our family birthday boards:

Yes, my family is much bigger than the hubbies...He's 1 of 3 kids, I'm 1 of 7.

I found most of my supplies at one of my favorite places, The Wood Connection. I'm sure you can find all of them at your local craft store, however. The letters I used for the months, were in my scrapbooking stash for years, same as the ribbons. The twine used I found at Target in their scrapbooking aisle. I'm too lazy to go look at the paint right now for exact colors, but if someone wants to know - I will find it.

Santa's Little Trouble Makers

There's been a lot of fun new kits for the Holiday Season released over at Trixie Scraps lately. She's been doing a lot of collab work. One such kit that came about was My Shelf Elf. This is the first year we've ever done The Elf On The Shelf thing at our house, so I'm just barely getting pictures of it.

However, I still found an awesome use for this kit and I of course made a few things with it.

First and foremost, I did a tutorial on how to make a Facebook Timeline Cover Photo. You can read the tutorial here and this is what it looks like:

The next thing I did with this kit was to make a scrapbook page, of course. I took one of the templates one of the CT members made, which you can find here and went to work. Here's what we came out with:

Getting Caught Up

One of the best things about being a part of the Trixie Scraps Design Creative Team is all the work I've been accomplishing in such a short period of time. Here's 3 more additions to my digi-scrapping world...

My first one was a post about getting your Christmas Cards made now. Read here for detailed instructions.

The next page I was able to create was about creating your own handwriting as a font. Yes it is possible and you can do so for free. Here's more info and here's the page I made:

Finally one of the other CT members needed a couple pages made to show off the template she made. You can download her template here and here's the page I made:

Making Halloween

I love, love, love Halloween. I'm always on the lookout for more Halloween decorations.

This year I headed over to The Wood Connection towards the middle of September and had a hard time making decisions. I could've spent a boatload of money, which I didn't have - so I had to pick and choose.

These were the winners...

Then I decided to make use of a wood plaque thing that I bought off our area yard sale group on Facebook. I paid $7 for both, which is a little less than you'd pay for one. When I originally bought them, I didn't know what I was going to do with them, but I knew I'd figure something out eventually and well I've done one project and I know what the other's going to be. Anyway, here's what I did with it using this trick.

These were all so much fun to do and I love having these new decorations for the house.

My Story, My Song

Another layout I did for a post at Trixie Scraps.

When I originally started this layout it was meant to be an about me layout and it didn't exactly go according to the plan. I started journaling and then ended up forgoing that idea when my brain was filled with what I should do instead. So, I did it.

Why So Serious? - Revisited

I noticed I hadn't posted this layout yet. It was another one I did a post for over at Trixie Scraps, and you can read that post here. It was a post about using your imperfect photos.

This is a revisit of a previous layout, but I redid it in a 12x12 size and kind of like this newest layout:

Every New Beginning Comes From Some Other Beginning's End

Here's my newest digi layout.

I enjoyed making this layout so so much and I just wish I could've found the original picture I wanted to use. I have a picture somewhere on an old hard drive with the 1st day of school picture from his Kindergarten year. That's the one I wanted to use and the good news is, with digi scrapping - as soon as the hubby decides to get that hard drive out for me, I can replace the picture!

To all those visiting me for the very 1st time, welcome to my space in the blog world.

I am so excited to be a part of Trixie Scraps Stars Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Little Wonders and your next stop will be Scrapping In PJ's.

If you get lost be sure to head back to your Map of the Stars at Trixie Scraps.

This month we all created little freebies with Summer on the Boardwalk. I love the fun colors in this kit and even though I've never really been to a 'boardwalk', it makes me wish I had. This is just an all around fun Summery kit.

It was the perfect kit for these cute pictures we got of my little ray of sunshine last summer:

Here's my freebie for you:

BIG NEWS!!!

So, recently there was a CT (Creative Team) call over at Trixie Scraps Designs. I sent in my application and waited anxiously for a reply. I wasn't thinking I'd actually be asked to be a part of the team, but to my surprise I was!!!

I've been a part of this group for just about a month now and I can already tell it's a great group of ladies and Trixie is one talented gal!

Anyway, this past Tuesday was my 1ST EVER blog post on Trixie's blog. You can read it here. I look forward to doing so many more in the upcoming weeks, months and hopefully YEARS! :D

So being part of this team I've been able to play around with some of the newest kits Trixie has to offer. Besides the one I used in the blog post above, she made one called Remembering You. I can't tell you how long I've wanted a kit like this. It was such a great kit that I was able to create 2 pages out of the same kit and they don't even look that similar. AWESOME!!!

I seriously LOVE this kit. You should seriously look into purchasing this kit if you have a Memorial type page you're just waiting to scrap!

Father's Day Gifts

This project took me 3 months to complete and I was still cutting it close to the deadline.

Back in December my little sister did this for her hubby for Christmas. I bookmarked it and decided it'd be an awesome gift for Father's Day. My little sister first ran across this blog post and decided to make a photo book from it.

Yup, I totally stole her idea. I'm woman enough to admit it.

Like I said, I started this like in February and it took me till June to finish it. I got my hubby's done in time to get a photobook printed at Shutterfly, but my Dad's I didn't. I opted instead to make a video for my Dad. I think it worked better for him that way anyway.

I'll admit I didn't write down anything that I used because it was such a big project, but if you want more info like what kit I used and the fonts - give me the name of the page and I can track it down for you. I scraplifted most pages from Creating Keepsakes magazine.

Here's my Daddy's Video:

Music:
TO SIR, WITH LOVE - Lulu
THROUGH THE YEARS - Kenny Rogers

And here are the pages I did for my hubby:
